Brief History
Founded in 1989 with the construction of its first Nile cruiser, the M/S The Royal Orchid, the Nile Exploration Corporation rapidly gained the enviable reputation as one of the most prestigious cruising companies on the Nile thanks to a staff which has over 30 years of experience and expertise in the field.
Growing popularity, complemented by strong relationships with travel agencies such as Thomas Cook Holidays, encouraged Nile Exploration to expand quickly, with the construction of a second Nile cruiser, M/S The Royal Rhapsody in 1990, followed by the M/S The Royal Serenade in 1992.
In 1998, Nile Exploration extended their fleet, offering cruises on Lake Nasser when the M/S Prince Abbas entered service. A further addition to the fleet was made in 2005, with the completion of a fourth Nile cruise ship, the M/S The Royal Lotus which sails under the management of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. Build on the success of the M/S The Royal Lotus, a sixth ship, M/S The Royal Lily began operation in November 2007 also under Mövenpick management.
For over 20 years Nile Exploration has followed a controlled growth program which maintains our consistent emphasis on quality of service which set the industry standards for luxurious cruising.
